Sometimes you just have to take some time off from the whole weight loss thing. I don't mean going crazy with overeating because then you'll be paying for it later. But, mentally it's exhausting to always be thinking about weight. I've been sick all week so I decided it was better to not exercise this week. I still ate all my foods and even lost .6 pounds when I weighed in last night. I get so sick of myself sometimes - I have to use a little self-talk to remind myself that there's more important things in life. Retraining my brain to not always think about food/weight is a difficult challenge.
All things social usually revolve around food and it's tough to avoid getting off track. I try to just make going out to eat a special treat. It's not realistic to say I never go out to eat (in fact, I'm meeting some girlfriends for dinner tonight) but I just pick and choose certain events. This helps me stay healthy and in control of what I eat as well as keeping money in my pocket. Right now at this point in my life, I am all about family. Not to say that you don't need friends because everyone does but working has left little time for my son and I'm cherishing every minute after school and on the weekends right now. LOL, have you seen the show Up All Night? My husband and I feel a lot like that couple (trying to maintain our "cool factor" that we once were; but when it comes right down to it, we're all about our son!).
